High pressure dominates the area lately and after last weeks recurrency flight I had to go again. I launched the citabria from KHLN to go look at a newly flying RV-6A in Lewistown(KLWT). As I climbed out the temp crept up, 24*F on the ground and 32*F at 7500'. Along with I was getting a good push with winds about 35mph. I was indicating 100mph, and GS was 132-136mph. Crossing the rocks I kept my climb to get out of the turbulence, Leveling off at 9500'. once at LWT, I wandered over to

to check out the RV's. I think the is a -6A, -7 and -9. Of course I would have pictures, EXCEPT they were all gone to lunch. My fault for not calling ahead. I didn't wait around as I knew I was going to fight headwinds going home. The mountains and the high winds force me to choose between a pounding or slugging. I hate rotors so climbed to 10500 and had to settle for 76mph GS for a short time. Shortly after the pic below I was able to drop down 8500' and make positive yardage.
Before being bit by the flying bug, I used to Ski Patrol at Showdown Ski Area. here's a pic:

Yeah I know I should be in the shop building, but the flying bug must be treated with a dose of aviation every once in a while.
