Interior Paint

I finished painting my fuse interior parts (seat bottoms, baggage compartment sides and bottoms) yesterday.

I used the same paint Brian Chesteen used (Rustoleum hammered metallic) and the parts look freakin' awesome! I'm very happy with the end result. The paint is going to look great with my dark "schooner" ultraleather seats from Classic Aero.

Now I just need to keep from damaging them while I do the other fuse work.

Let's see if some of these pics do the color justice. It's tough, because there is a lot of silver/graphite tones, and unfortunately I am no professional photographer.

Dave! Where you been buddy!? Haven't seen you around hear lately...

Antony, that color is awesome! Every time I see it, I re-consider it for my panel color...hmmm...I really like that hammered look. Rob did his panel in a black hammered finish, and it turned out great too!

Thanks!

Thanks Chad!

I am really happy with how it turned out. I custom mixed a color by combining some of the black with silver. It's pretty close to the hammered gray that comes pre-mixed, but I wanted to experiment with color.

I think I will go with this color as a border on my panel and do the instrument surrounds in black.

That is going to make a nice interior Antony. I have always liked the hammered finish, it wears so much better and doesn't show finger marks and other such things like a reflective smooth finish.

No, man...I'm Dave!

I'm still around, just been traveling a lot at taxpayer expense...thanks to all of you!

I've been bustin' my hump to get the wings finished...after only four years. Antony kindly let me use his paint booth weekend before last and just last Sunday, Captain John and Wicked Stick came up to help nail the lower wing skins on...

Thanks homey, I appreciate the fashion advice!

Not wearing that mask while painting gives a whole new meaning to "hammered finish."

:P

That's some cheap labor you have contracted there, Dave! The guinea and the porto-gee working hard on your wings! I hear that they work for beer!

hahahaha

Dang it, you've exposed my evil plan! :sneaky:

Now I'll have to find some other temptation to get people to work on my airplane...

Don't worry, we each took turns working and taking pictures of the other one.

And for the record, we got fed as well as having a few beers. ;)

John and I had a great time helping Dave.
