It's ALIVE!

Post by bullojm1 »

I did a bunch of wiring of my main busses tonight and at the very end of the night had my Master/Alternator switch and Auxiliary battery switches wired up. I double checked all the wires and used my ohmmeter to double check all the connections. With a swift flick of my finger, I turned on the master relay. Heard a "THUNK" on the firewall and my main bus fired up with 12 volts. Wow. What a great milestone. Now all I need is some goodies to go on with that THUNK!

I couldn't leave the project last night with just the thunk of the master relay....so I slammed in one EFIS and wired her up. The magnetometer isn't connected, so I don't get the horizon shown on the screen, but nevertheless, a cool moment. Here is a pic:

Yeah, I remember getting the same excitement throwing the master on, and playing with each new thing I'd wire up. Gets addicting, just remember to put an external power source to the battery so you don't kill it.
