I could not see if he ever went through his "Engine Restart Procedure". Especially the part where you switch fuel tanks. Maybe the high wing plane he was flying used a header tank, I dunno.

That was my first thought too Dan, but if they had 8 to start, it burns 2.5 (obviously more during takeoff, but not 8 gal in a few minutes), it seems that wouldn't be the case. If the FAA has already written this one off as an incident (says so in one of the comments), we may never know.

This is a good demonstration of why altitude is your friend over populated areas.

He might not have made that road had it not been for the first restart.
