Well I'm no meteorologist but it sure is raining hangars! I got the call from KDMW tonight letting me know I was at the top of the list for a T-hangar. I don't really need one yet, but between taking one or going to the bottom of the list, this choice was easy.

Yeah. Hangars can be a bit stupid in price around here. The stinky part is that there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason as to which airports will screw you and which ones wont!

Thanks for all of the congratulations guys. I am pretty excited. Here are some of the answers to your questions (sorry for the late delay, I just got back from vacation):

Probably not until late summer. Fortunately I know a couple of people who want to sublease it from me until I am ready to put mine in there, so it's no money out of my pocket.

Not yet...I haven't even seen it. I was called the night before I went on vacation, so I didn't have time to see it. Sliding doors and concrete floor. That's all I needed to know!

I am paying $305 for mine. The best price around is at KMTN at about $200/mo. However, MTN is about twice the distance, 3x worse traffic, no electric and the hangars tend to flood when it rains.

Its funny you say that because the RV-4 that is subleasing my hangar comes from one of those flooded ones!

Wow. I'm not going to complain about my $90/month hangar any more. 'Course there's no electric or anything. Just a box I built myself.

Congrats Mike!

I just hope I can get a hangar that I can afford without having to drive past 2-3 airports to get to it. South facing would be a bonus 8)

Friggin' AAAAWESOME!!

I have a nice floor as well...but I was just down there to check for leaks after a good soaking last night...I have a leak from the roof right above the right wing area. Bummer. Gotta fix that! :bang:

A few weeks ago the airport called and aaid that one of the "nice" hangars was available. Since May last year I've kept the Skipper in a common hangar ($66/mo), with a dirt floor and asphalt pads. It leaks so bad there is standing water everywhere. I knew I couldn't put an RV in there, so I joined every waiting list. This is one of the "expensive: ones ($171). Much better :), especially for maintainence.

This hangar is close to my home. I feel like I'm really grabbing my ankles on this one. $420 per month. The FBO says "hey, we pull your airplane out for you when you want to go flying as part of our services".

This hangar is really my pride and joy. It's out in the country, close to a lake. It's about an hours flight from home. I had it built 14 years ago for $18,000. It's 40x50 with an apartment in the back. I lease the land for $150 per year.
