N108LF first flight!!

Post by lancef53 »

Yippee!!

The weather straightened out this afternoon to a light 5-10 mph wind, so I went for my first flight. Everything went great, and the plane flew fine. Had a big crowd (bigger than I wanted), but no pressure.

I went for a quick hop for .2, and up again later for .4. I had removed a mag a couple of weeks ago to retime it, and had a small leak coming from the left mag. I brought it back to the shop tonight to fix the leak, and hope to get some more time in tomorrow.

Pictures coming soon, my wife took a bunch, along with my Mom and Dad.

Thanks for all the support, I couldn't have done it without the support this group has given.

Here is one pic, I checked my camera and Dad must have been as nervous as I was, because he only took 2 pictures :) My wife took about 100, so I will post more after she resizes and sends me a few.

That's a nice looking bird! Take it easy through your test flights. I've heard those RV-8s just WANT to pull Gs and go fast! Thanks for the pic, but don't stop with just one. Where's the one of your RV-Grin!

Congratulations Lance :) :) Looks good go at it easy until you have completed the flight testing. I can't wait to fly to ND to see your plane and meet you. Is the frost out of the ground there yet? How soon will you be able to start field work?

The frost is just starting to come out, so it will be a couple of weeks. If you look in the pictures, you can see snow by the shelterbelts. Hopefully we can get some time on it before springs workl

The plane is a blast to fly, now I just need to learn how to fly it better :)
