When it rains ....

It pours.

So yesterday Patti and I both bailed on work early to drive over to the freight terminal and get the finish kit. The weather forecast was for scattered T-storms but it was looking good.

On the way home things started building about 25 - 30 miles to the west of our home. No biggie I thought, we have plenty of time to get home and get the kit inside. Yeah, you can see where this is going.

We get home and over the house the weather is actually looking pretty good. Now, I don't have a garage so when a kit arrives we have to pop the top while the box is still in the truck and take the kit inside piece by piece. Well, you guessed it, 5 minutes after the top was off a storm popped up and drenched us. Nothing like watching the rain water bounce off of the canopy and run down into the box while you are trying to get the contents out and into the house.

 :bang:

In the end the memories are humorous, but I have to say the experience was quite stressful. And I have to say that the very first words out of my mouth when I opened the box were : "Where is everything? Where did my seven thousand bux go?!"

On the plus side, out of all 4 kits this is probably the best one to get rained on!

I had my empennage loaded up in my truck to haul to DMW yesterday when the storms came through. I don't know why I rushed the horizontal stabilized back into the garage. Its not like it will never see the weather. However, I wasn't ready to let go yet....

Congrats on getting the <nowhere near> Finish<ed> Kit!

I drove to Vans and picked mine up, but it was all sealed until I got home. Same thought for me when I popped the box open...."Hey you guys must have for got something, or did I forget to get all the boxes.".....plus Mine didn't have a cowling, so the big box was mostly air.
