Long shot but just checking:

Anyone want to let a soldier crash on your couch and/or use your shower? My 24yr old son is driving back to Fort Bragg, NC from Montana leaving June 21st.

Here's a link for his route:

I'm not near his travel path, Brian, but if I were, I'd open my house in a minute. It's the least we can do for someone serving our country. Please tell him "thank you for your service!" from me.

Brian, the map didn't show the route (correction, it didn't from my email, but did from the link here on RB), but I put in Townsend, MT to Ft. Bragg, and it looks like he will be coming right across IL on I-74...he is MORE than welcome to stay with us whenever he comes thru. We have a guest room with a queen bed, and it's all his if he wants it.

Thanks guys, means a lot to me to have friends..even though we've never met face to face.

Chad, We may take you up on it. He doesn't even know I sent this post, so I'll talk with him later to see for sure what his plans are. He mentioned just crashing in the Jeep for a few hours at a time and drive pretty much straight thru. >2200 miles and 37 hrs is a long time to sit in a car even if it does have leather seats.

I'll be in touch. Thanks again

Brian, I will try this post again, not sure what I did on that last one! :? It looks like he is coming thru Sioux falls and he is more than welcome at our house if he needs. Just let me know?

Thanks Joe. I'll know more as the time gets closer.

He may not require anything. I think he has some Army buddies at various locations between here and there.

Brian, If he was takng I-94 through Minnesota, We would most likely have a bedroom and shower available depending upon the date. We are 11 miles North of I-94. St. Cloud, MN is Sartell's Southern suburb.

Doubt he wants to detour up to MSP, but if he does, we have a guest room, plenty of privacy and a free fuel fill-up for him. Oh, and all the food he can eat.

Careful Bob. He's 6'3" 240#, 24yrs old, likes to lift weights and thinks the Queencut ribeye at the Otter would make a nice snack.

No soldier will ever leave my house hungry. I'll bring in a freakin' side of beef if that's what it takes.

haha. I've actually witnessed him get full...no really!

To all of you who have offered to house and feed him, I thank you very much. Not certain what his plan is right now. He has a serious girlfriend and they may decide to make a longer trip and see the country(she'll fly back). If he goes alone and makes a quick dash, I'll most likely collect some phone numbers from a few of you.

But for now: Thanks, I owe ya'
