I've been doing a little searching for W & B numbers but things get a little scattered. so was wondering has an ideas how much my my -7 should weigh? My goal 4 yrs ago was 1075# but now think it will be heavier than that.
Painted RV-7 w/ pants and fairings, IO-360, WW200RV prop w/2.25 spacer, James long cowl, plenum, seats and front carpet, light duty panel. ELT and Strobe pak behind Pax seat. oversize main tires(+5#)
What numbers should I expect to see?

My guess for your airplane with paint is 1100 +/- 20. My buddy's 7 is 1171 with your exact configuration, a little heavier panel with more steam in it.

I shouldn't say exact...Van's cowl, and standard tires.

My RV-8 came in at 1092 empty, primed but not painted, less wheel pants.
I figure it will end up around 1,125 once painted and panted.

Neil and I were discussing it yesterday and 1100# is my new hopeful number, but could easily be 1130.

Brian,
Just as a data point, mine came in at 1074 lbs, without leg fairings, gear fairings or paint. I have the 200RV prop in my configuration.

Compared to yours, mine with paint and sparse interior maybe I'll get 1111. we know next week i guess.

It's a weird optical illusion when the TD's are being weighed...the canopy deck is level, but the airplane looks nose low.
I'm gonna go 1119, just inside my original range that I guessed.

Okay... I'll bite...
Since the last couple of estimates seem to be going up, I'll top that and guess 1125.
What's the prize for the winner???

Ok, ok, I'll tell you. And the winner is.......none of us, but I am the winner because it came in better than I thought it was going to. (the paint had me scared) Chad originally picked 1100, i think, but he feared the heavy looking paint also.
Certified aviation scales.
right main 511# at 68.5"
left main 514# at 68.6"
tail wheel 70#
Total 1095# @ 80.2"c.g.
I worked hard to keep the weight down and forward.

Thanx for the info on the illusion Chad.
As for the weight, I am highly impressed. I would have thought well over 1100, but that would be emotional and baseless. Good for you!
