Started building my second RV last october, a 7A with slider canopy. The first was an RV 6 , kit#42 with an IO-320 and C/S prop.
wings and tail of the 7 are finished, the canopy frame and roll bar have been fitted and I hope to start cutting the canopy this winter...havn,t decided wether to glue the plexi or screw it down.
Right now I,m wiring the fuselage and fitting and cutting the panel for a 10" dynon skyview and a few other goodies.
This one will also have an 0320 and C/s prop.
I have learned a fair bit from this site...boy have things changed since I built my 6...anyways, I hope to learn more and perhaps contribute a bit.

should mention I still have and fly the Champ I,v owned and flown for the past 35 years

Welcome! I have a 6A Quickbuild and was about #2338 but it still took me 10 yrs & 3 days to get it signed off. I enjoy my Six but it looks like the 7 has some real advantages. I hope you enjoy the build and will be interested to some of the differences you note.

thanks for the wecome. I gave all my fixtures and jigs to other local 6 builders, and the nice thing about the 7 is that none of them are needed for the new RV.
In twelve months I have afinished tail assy. and wings and a fuse being fitted out....that is what I call an improved airplane kit :)

Well...We have moved into the 21st century,I don,t have anymore steam guages in my stockpile, and my eyes aren,t getting any younger or better and when I finaly kick the bucket I can,t take it with me. :(

Other than that, I liked what I saw at sun&fun and decided after checking everone elses offerings that was the way to go.Plus the wife liked it and gave me a blank cheque.
Also there are several RVs on my field with Dynon products that are working well and the owners have no complaints.

also I still havn,t figured out how to program my cellphone yet so the other guys will help me set up the skyview.

with a far flung family the RV will be my X-country airplane and the champ will be my "by the hour airplane"...(just under 4gph) :)
Grand kids already have several hours in the champ and looking forward to the 7
