Hello!

Post by speedpants »

Hello all! Well I finally pulled the trigger and joined this website, some know me but most dont, my name is Mitch and i am the director of maintenance at alpha one flight services in KPYM. I would like to think i have helped out captin john and Bill H out on there projects, and seen wicked stick complete his, i guess i joined to help with any techinal questions and meet some cool people. While i might not have all the answers(and believe me i dont) i still know a fair amount and have access to some pretty knowlageable people and i will just be glad to help, i love aviation and all its glory, and all the people involed in it. The aviation comunity is small, but a good solid group of people. When im not working i usually can be found in hangar #5 "helping" bill h and captin john. Thanks guys thats all! I'm looking foward to everything! :)

An on-board Mechanic?.... perfect! I'll ask the first dumb question.

I'm doing my first oil change today, and the actual work is a no brainer. But the paperwork always baffles me. So,

what should the log entry be when I change the oil and filter?

Brian, not a dumb question at all logbook entries are always a touchy subject, but here is what i use for an oil change logbook entry:

Drained oil, and installed new oil filter p/n ch48110-1, and serviced engine with 8qts of aeroshell 15W-50 oil. Test ran aircraft with no leaks noted ops check good. All work performed I.A.W.(in accordance with) Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR's) and is airworthy is regards to the work performed.
Brian lastname
1234456 type of certificate u have

I put a filter and oil that i would usually use, so what ever ones you use just swap out the numbers.
And dont forget to put the aircraft total time and current tach or hobbs time. (which ever u have)

Hope this helps, Mitch

I started to write 'changed oil' but didn't think that was right.

So, Thanks Mitch

Cool!

We got the guest room all recently renovated for ya!

Michele is painting my kitchen now! She wants the plane DUN!
DEE YU ENN... DUN!

She wants it done so bad she says that if I work on the plane, she will work on my house because hers is all recently renovated and she needs another project. How bad is that?

Well, gotta go back to the shop. Snow day here today and I am doing canopy latch work now.

Later!

Bret, No problem!

I have all summer off! July is probably better than August. I am tentatively out of the country in August.

Lemme know!
