Update on my Thatcher CX-4

Post by cjensen »

If anyone is interested in this little airplane, I got the windscreen installed this past week and a half...

I took flat metal stock-

Formed it in a vise with a hammer and a dolly-

Fit it-

Cut and fit the windscreen, on an off the airplane many times...tho not as much as the RV!!

And it's in!

Chad
How much time did you invest into this? I'm thinking my -7 windscreen.

Oh by the way I don't post much, but learn tons from you guys. Just sold my Flying Pazmany PL-1 and bought wings (from another builder) and Fuse/finish kits will be ordered shortly.

Carlos, I haven't been keeping track of time on this project, but I'd guess I have no more than 6-8 hours on it. It's nothing like the RV windscreen...MUCH easier on this one.

I've been shooting for a first flight prior to Oshkosh...we'll see. Time is quickly slipping by and time on the CX-4 has been spotty at best!

how are you going to fly 2 airplanes to OSH?..do you need a ferry pilot for the -7? i work cheap.

looks like pretty good workmanship on the fairing.
