Hey guys... Im Dan, figured an introduction was in order. I have heard about this place from Ian (TMBG) he says that its the best forum around for RV builders. I am currently finishing up a -4 project that I bought not long ago... I am also building a Pitts S-1-SS... But the RV can be finished pretty soon, so I'm going to focus my attention on it, so I can fly while I finish the Pitts. I am currently working on the Harmon fastback conversion, which isn't too terribly much of a step back from where it was. That should be done by shortly after Oshkosh, then its on to the rest, which is mostly finish kit stuff... Already have an IO-360, trying to decide if I am going to overhaul it before or after I bolt it to the RV. Anyways, about me, I'm an A&P, and a certified welder (tig & stick). I am an air traffic controller at Atlanta Center, and I spend all day at work wishing I was flying the planes I'm talking to. I am planning on meeting up with you all at the Otter this year, and I can't wait to meet the group. Anyway, thanks in advance for the help, and answers to questions... Hopefully I can help some of you too!
Dan

Hi Dan, welcome to Rivet Bangers! I'm envious of your 2 projects! My '8 is a little way off completetion in the UK yet!
I'm an Air Traffic Controller too in sunny Qatar! Not many light aircraft there to make me jealous of others flying though luckily!!

Nice premium terminal Qatar Airways has there, just been through there at the end of June and about a week and a half ago on my trip to and from Thailand out of Kuwait.
Is the beer cold there, thinking of heading there at the end of Ramadan to wet my whistle once again.
BTW, hi Pittsbuilder.

I'd recommend waiting until after Ramadan for that otherwise all whistle-wetting will have to wait until sunset!!
Unfortunately I won't be here then; back home for summer holidays then return here on Sept 8th. If you're visiting anytime after that drop me an e-mail; be good to have a beer or 3 with another rivet-banger!!!

I was looking at a couple of days for EID since that is a holiday for us. But then again even waiting until evening during Ramadan to drink a few beers is better than not having any beer at all like it is here.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys... I am really excited about Oshkosh and meeting some of you at the Otter! I just wish I was parking in the north 40 with the -4... With any luck, I'll be doing that next year!

nah they won't make you put the -4 in the north 40. Only us scrubs in cherokees have to park there

Yeah, I would imagine you'll want to park in RV camping rather than the North 40. Love the North 40, camped there 4 years in a row, but RV camping is closer, and much more centralized...
Hope to see it next year!
