Countersinking the tank nutplates makes a HELLUVA mess!

I just completed them and am beginning the inspection ports now.

The sample skin piece fits perfectly!

...and the holes look clean!

I think I am getting the hang of this whole airplane building thing!

I should have it all figured out right after I need to know how to do it!

Every time I've ever fabricated anything, it seems like about the time I'm finishing up, I've figured out how to do it.

Interesting technique of countersinking the screw hole *after* the nut plates have been riveted in. Did the threads of the nutplate not tear up the pilot of the countersink cutter?

Actually, it is per plan.

The #30 pilot centers inside the well of the nutplate without affecting the threads in any adverse way.

This keeps the c-sink perfectly centered! Pretty slick, really!
