Need to mooch something ELSE!!!

Post by captain_john »

Hey All!

Last time I needed desiccant plugs. The good doc was willing to set me up but it turns out I had them already in my hangar! THEN... when I got my engine, it already had them in it thanks to Mattituck!!! hahaha

sooooo here is the new story:

I shop ebay from time to time for airplane parts. I bought this vans mapbox kit for cheap. It was supposed to have everything included. Of course, it didn't. I was missing the stiffeners and the mapbox drill jig.

PainterJohn was able to hook me up with the stiffies but I am still out the mapbox drill jig. I am not sure that I even need one yet. Does anyone know if I really do?

If I do, do you have one I could beg, borrow or steal!?! I will buy you a beer at OSH!

Hey CJ,

I just bought my map box kit from Vans. I can see how valuable the drill jig is because it makes sure the thing is square when you put it together, and when you drill it to the panel. Otherwise, the corners can be pushed sideways back and forth and you aren't sure how to secure it in position. It's not real solid and square without it.

If you're not in a big hurry, you can have mine when I'm finished with it. I'll be starting on my map box as soon as I'm finished with my current little sub-project.

Bruce, I see how the jig would be handy now.

Yes, I can wait!

I have lots to do in the meanwhile.

Thank you very much!
