ipad to the rescue

Post by painless »

My iPad saved my i-butt today.

Went for my flight physical and had not filled out the medical form on line. When I made the appointment, the person I talked to did not mention the need to do so. I went on line to check out the form and saw that it did not state it was mandatory to fill out the heath questionnaire on line (at least I didn't see it say so....) so I thought perhaps this particular AME was still using paper. Not so!!!

So there I was.....no form filled out and the nurse saying "I don't think so" to my query if I could use a computer in their office. Out comes the ipad and about a half hour later, I'm set.

Thanks Steve Jobs, wherever you are!

And yup, I'm set for another two years. Fooled 'em again!

I believe that July was the FAA deadline to switch over.

The nurse, who handles all the FAA mumbo jumbo said it became mandatory as of October 1.

oh wow, for some reason I thought it was July. Once I accepted that it was going to be the norm it really wasn't that bad of a process.

It really isn't a bad process, except when you drive 1.5hrs to get to an AME and shut down your office for a day.....to find out you messed up!! :o

Luckily the AME I go to is a pilot, so he showed me some mercy. Actually, his staff showed me some mercy. Like my office, the Dr. is just a pawn..... :P
