Wing tie downs done!

Post by captain_john »

I just had to post a pic of something.

It's not a Ducati or anything, but they did come out pretty good!

My dilemma... no bolts to install them with.

The 1993-1 bag containing the 8 AN3-7A bolts to complete the install... is backordered!

I shot an email off to Van's today asking when I can expect delivery of this bag and the other one that is backordered.

In the meanwhile, does anyone got any bolts I can use?

WS, Thermos.. anyone? Got bolts?

I only got 2 leftover from the Emp. Kit.

Looks like I am arranging rear wing spar stuff tonight!

CJ,
You will have to buy your own eye bolts for the tie downs. A good hardware or farm supply store will have them. Good luck!

Ok, so maybe it's my fault. I ordered a dozen of those bolts a while back. They probably took them from your kit. :|
One of the irritating things about the kits is they give you the exact number of bolts you need. If you mess one up you no recourse other than to order another one. I tightened one a bit too much and broke it. I didn't want to place an order for a single bolt so I ordered a dozen (including your eight).
Let me know if you don't get them from Vans soon. I will be glad to send them.

Danny, no... not the eye bolts. The other ones, they hold the brackets ONTO the spar.

Darryl... %^#(*@^@$&!!!

Lemme see what they say. I betcha the FBO has some here I can buy.

Thanks anyways. I am sorting out my rear spar stuff now.

Bolts for tie downs

Post by Wicked Stick »

Hey Captn' :)

If you want aircraft bolts, nuts, or most any other hardware, give Albert a call at Aircraft Repairs Unlimited at the New Bedford Airport.

He stocks a ton of hardware all aircraft grade.

I think I gave you the number, but if you don't have it, just give me a call.

WS, Yup... got it already. I considered him my "ace in the hole" and am hoping to hear from Van's with a fulfillment date first.
