P51 ride

Post by painless »

I finally got around to compiling a video of a P51 ride I was fortunate to get at Oshkosh this past summer and thought I would share it. Enjoy!

Yeah….it was a totally awesome experience!

I'm very jealous! Looks like an amazing flight. The P-51 has to be my favorite airplane.

Very nice Doc!

I finally got a chance to view it on the computer. For whatever reason, it wouldn't play on the gaypad...

Looks like a great ride!

I bet even a nosedragger guy like yourself found some nostalgia in the experience!

I'm converted CJ. Doesn't my building a tail drag'n bipe count??

I don't understand why that video will not play on a mobile device. It says that I have not authorized it. Bogus! Any hints on how to change that??

I got no ideas on how to change that...

Yah! Your bipe does count!

...only after I get my ride!

Congrats on the ride!

So how many Big Beautiful Doll's are there? I understand that the original is in a museum in the UK, and there was the one that crashed a couple years back after the mid-air...

Here's a couple of pics of my ride in one from '06:

Hey Chad, no, it's the other purple Mustang at a time when it was between racing canopies :)

I did have an encounter with Clay's Mustang when I was about 13 though. My cousin and I had just walked across the runway where we lived (a little 2500' strip) and out of no where, we get a flyby from this purple P-51! :o It was the first time I had seen a real one in my life. I guess Clay saw us because he gave us a second pass :yay:

It was so many years between that day and seeing a picture of Clay's Mustang that I was beginning to second guess what I saw. I mean really, who paints a P-51 MUSTANG PURPLE?
