When you told me that you were going to be on NPR, I thought for sure they were gonna chop you up for being a bread winner instead of wagon meat!
Looks like they took it easy on you! Hahaha
Men like you in today's day and age are hard to find! Very nostalgic of you actually running a business, making money and employing actual people that want to work! Nowadays people seem prefer a nice comfy social program in lieu of getting up in the morning and pulling the wagon!
A wage instead of an EBT card? Wow, what a bygone concept! ...kinda like flying a tailwheel airplane! Don't tell me that you have one of those too!?!
You are a true renaissance man!
Seriously now, you do epitomize a good, hard-working man and that is the bottom line. NPR saw that and they knew you were the man for the piece!

Seriously, The reporter is a sharp guy and he is doing a great job covering the importance of manufacturing and "making things" to the US economy.
Giving each other hair cuts does not an economy make.

That's the cleanest machine shop I've ever seen. Maybe you tidied up a little for the pictures.
My little peephole into the economy is focused on manufacturing, and since I can't afford my own machine shop yet I send stuff out. It is getting hard to get anything done around here in a timely fashion. All the shops are booked up for 4-6 weeks, minimum. Even then I can more or less count on my stuff not being done on time.
Consumer gadgets might have gone offshore, but there is still plenty of higher technology stuff being developed and manufactured in the U.S.
