I was spying on Vlad's whereabouts and noticed this past Sunday he landed at KFFA about an hour after I took off.

My route home was up the coast over KNTU, I did a low pass by 53VG, Crisfield, KCGE, and then to Martin State to take a short cut around Baltimore. The first part of the trip was smooth with some occasional light chop. I was flying at 3,000' MSL with the autopilot. Things started to get interesting around KESN. I noticed a dark cloud in front of me and we started getting light rain. About 3 minutes later all hell broke loose. We hit a major down draft. Before I knew it we were pretty much headed straight down, and everything in the cockpit that wasn't tied down was floating around us in 0 G. It took me a second to kick off the auto pilot and pull out of the dive. That certainly got our attention! The rest of the trip was definitely bumpy, and it also made for an interesting landing at the pencil thin Fallston airport.

Can't make it to Masey today - I have recently become involved with a four letter word that likes to use my time and spend my money:

Don,

Good eye! '93 Catalina 30 with the tall rig and shoal keel. She sleeps 4 comfortably (7 uncomfortably!). I'm keeping her in downtown Baltimore near all of the action. I'll call her my floating bungalow

Task #1 with the new boat is installation of active refrigeration to assure beverages are of drinking temperature upon arrival

Very cool, Mikey!

I am looking forward to seeing her!

I am willing to bet that this ship has seen the waters off Block Island.

When will you be coming up next?

I think we have some boating to do.

I have the perfect tender for your boat!

I can get you a mooring in Plymouth too!

:) CJ

Damn I wish I was closer to you guys...My mind has been adrift (ahem) lately with boating again. Sold my last one a year ago and am really missing it with boating season upon us... :(
