Do you use the Mail Integration features of RivetBangers?

I do and it's great.

Forum To Mail - Who uses it?

Post by bullojm1 »

Back when Spike and Patti ran this board, they implemented a feature where new posts were emailed to Rivetbanger members who subscribed. Also, these same members could post to the board by sending an email to specific email address @ rivetbangers.com, and the message would automatically be posted in the forums.

We are running a very old version of the forum software, which cannot be upgraded due to the Forum to Mail feature. So I am wondering how many people, if any, actually use this? If nobody does, I will upgrade the forum software to a newer version.

Thanks for you input,

I use the email feature to read any posts that I might be interested in, then log-in to post replies. So, it's a convenient feature for me. I don't have to log in to scan through posts. But, I'm only worth about 1/4 vote, given my extremely limited participation for the last many years.

The irony is that I tried to reply with m2f once this went out and the email didnt get processed. Looks like the script is having some db issues in the logs.

I use the feature to see what's going on, I find it easier to see what's happening than to log in every day. I tried to reply via e-mail last week but it never showed up.

If at all possible please keep the feature

Mike,

I had been getting email digests, but that's stopped working even though it appears to be enabled in my profile. Is that the capability you're referring to?
