Hi all

I want to mount my iPad Air in the back of my '8 by attaching it to the roll-bar.

Has anyone done this already? If so how did you do it? I want to be able to remove the iPad and the mount be nice & rigid so it doesn't move about.

Any suggestions of what to use is appreciated. Pictures of your set-up would be great too!

Cheers guys

Rob,

I have played around extensively with most of the RAM mounts (http://www.rammount.com/) and have found that the "Tab Tite" works extremely well. It comes in a number of varieties for iPad tablets - some versions that are designed to fit tablets that don't have protective cases on them, and the others that work with tablets that are in a protective case. (http://www.rammount.com/NewProducts/tab ... fault.aspx).

RAM also makes a mount that attaches to a cylindrical bar:

You will need some other parts to connect them all together once you figure out all of the pieces you need.

Thanks for the reply Mike, appreciate the advice.

Do you think that one of those cylindrical bar attachments will hold the mount and iPad rigidly?

Cheers

Rob-

I see no reason why it wouldn't. The key to how solid the mount will be isn't so much in the bar attachment hardware, but rather in how long of an arm you have between the Tab Tite Mount and the bar. The longer the "arm" is between the two, the higher chance there is for movement.

I use a TabTite using the 1" balls, with a 5" and 2" arm. It's solid enough for what I use it for.

This isn't a great picture of how all of the pieces of the RAM mount fit together, but you should get the idea:

Thanks for the picture Mike. I guess I'd need a fairly long arm if I mount it to the top of the roll bar for the iPad to sit below it.
