Insulated engine blankets

Post by captain_john »

Can anyone give me a PIREP on a good quality engine blanket for winter ops?

Vlads sleeping bag is multi purpose and very stylish, but I would like something a bit more specialized.

Does anyone have a product preference?

CJ,

I use an old queen size down comforter. While not specialized or stylish, my oil temps and CHT's are in the 90's when I start up the engine. Maybe you could get Kimmy to sew you up a nice cover!!

A bit too late to contribute, but I use insulation "blankets" made for hot water heaters. Foil backed. Not real eligant, but they work great.

I guess I'm on the cheap side of solutions. I just use a furniture pad from Harbor Freight. Best $4 I spent.
