WWI airplanes

Post by prestwich »

OT: Netflix streaming has an excellent NOVA special on WWI planes. "First Air War" features authentic hand-crafted replicas of various planes of the era and details the invention of aerial reconnaissance and combat. I can't imagine an aviator - especially a homebuilder - who wouldn't be interested in this excellent hour-long documentary.

Yes I watched that and it was really good. We have come a long way since than. I liked the holding and firing of machine guns from the pilot seat trying not to hit the prop or wings.
