2016 Oshkosh Black Otter Dinner

Post by bullojm1 »

I figured with the release of the Oshkosh 2016 NOTAM today (http://www.eaa.org/~/media/files/airven ... 0notam.pdf), it is also good timing to start planning our annual gathering of RivetBangers for Oshkosh. I'm open to suggestions on what night to plan the dinner, but right now I am leaning towards Wednesday nigh, July 27th. I know this might cause a conflict for those of you interested in seeing the night air show, but last year it seemed to work out for most of us. I know most of us are planning on arriving on either Saturday or Sunday, and taking off towards the end of the week. Most of the week is full of fun to include the following:
  • Sunday, July 24th: RV-10 Gathering in Camp Scholler
  • Monday, July 25th: Beer Fairy / RV Social @ 1366 West Waukau Ave
  • Tuesday, July 26th: Van's Banquet
  • Wednesday, July 27th: RivetBangers Prime Rib Feast!
If anyone will have a car with extra seats, please chime in! I will put together a plan to make sure all of us make it to the Otter for the best meal at Oshkosh!

I have three competing activities on Wednesday evening. I resolved the conflict by rotating through the events that I attend. This year the Black Otter is on the agenda.

I don't know my transportation situation quite yet. I'm hoping to tag a couple friends that are driving to OSH to come along. Otherwise, I'll need two seats in somebody's vehicle.

Ken and I will be camping in HBC again this year.

The Captain is in for Wednesday night. I needed to fly up to Plymouth this weekend to confirm his attendance, as well as sample his new homebrew. His beer might a tad overrated.

Yes, count me in!

I plan on bugging out the next morning for Vegas so there will be no displays of gluttony or excessive behavior on my behalf!

That being said, I can hold my own fairly well...

BTW, That IS the best beer in the universe! After all, would a tap handle ever lie to you?

Well shoot. That takes the fun out of it. I might as well not bother showing up if there's not going to be any entertainment!

Oh wait. Bullock's going to be there. We're good.
