RivetBangers.com - The Only SECURE RV Forum

RivetBangers.com is proud to be the first RV forum to not only offer secure HTTPS technology, but we also force all communication to our server to be HTTPS. What is HTTPS? HTTPS secures all data between your browser and our server, which prohibits anyone from being able to intercept any data - including your username and password. What does this mean to the end user? Well, most of you won't notice any difference at all. Some of you will notice there will be a lock icon in your browser when accessing this site. Also, some of the newer browsers (Firefox) give a very blatant warning when you enter in your username and password through a site that doesn't use HTTPS.

Will any old non-HTTPS link to Rivetbangers.com still work? Absolutely. The site will automatically convert the old link to the HTTPS-safe link without any knowledge to the user.

Please let me know of any issues you may have with this change. Hopefully it will be completely transparent to all, and offer a little more security to the possibility of any passwords being compromised.

I try my best to keep RivetBangers.com up to date with technology to provide all of its users with the best and safest forum interface on the Internet!

Well, glad to hear that Mike. Although I got no clue about encryption and evesdropping but I like the way you think about your parish.
I somehow earned myself couple friends in an agency which starts from the 6th letter of the alphabet I am sure they would love to hack my code.

Enquiring nerds want to know if you also upgrading to TLS 1.2? SSL 3.0 is so yesterday's technology. :D

Bob,

Nerd talk! Now we're talking. SSL 2.0 and 3.0 are both disabled on the server - only TLS 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 are enabled.

RivetBangers.com has an A- rating for security from SSL Labs. Since it's better than any grade I ever received in school, I'm happy with it! :D

Test for yourself!
