we have a young bright guy on our field. he was always hanging around the airport as a kid and helped me a couple of times with my RV9 when I needed an extra hand. he got his A&P and did some work at the majors and on RV's but always liked flying. he got his instrument and multi and was flying an old piper tri-pacer like I used to fly 45 years ago to build time. he recently got a job flying co-pilot in a Lear 35. I smile when I think about going from a tri-pacer to a Lear. I noticed he walks differently now, more like John Wayne.
well, pardner, wait a minute while I walk to my Lear Jet.

Re: pulling them up!
Great story. Im sure it is a hard way to get to where he is now hanging around helping and begging rides but he did it!
