Do you need a parking brake?

Post by A2022 »

10 years flying, 1200 hours.... have I ever needed a parking brake? maybe one time when I landed in Tucumcari NM a couple years ago. I did the shoe trick and kicked it off and placed it under a tire. that was the only time in 10 years I could have used a parking brake, but I had the shoe work around method. so, for me, not installing a parking brake was a good decision. less parts to fail and less weight.
