Finally the most important post of the year - Black Otter planning for Oshkosh 2024.

Same time? Depart for the Otter after the airshow on Tuesday?

Why would we ever mess with trying to change up the perfect day??

What camping spot do you have? We will try to book one adjacent to yours to reduce our needs to walk to the Red Barn for provisioning alcohol.... :) :) :)

my arrival will be late in the week, Thursday or Friday, and only if the weather is good. so, I will miss it this year.

I'm thinking of packing a bike this year.

Well, another successful RivetBangers dinner has come and gone. A great turnout, 37 people. It may be a record, although I think many do not really know what RIvetBangers is anymore. That is ok though, finding new friends is always a good thing. When John "Spike" Spicer and his wife Patty started RivetBangers in October of 2004, they envisioned a place where people could discuss building and flying airplanes in a friendly environment without the attitudes and drama that was so prevalent in other forums. It is nice to see that their vision has endured over the years. Spike, wherever you are these days, I hope life is treating you well. This year was the 20th anniversary of the first RB dinner. The first dinner took place in 2005 at the Prime Quarter Steakhouse in Appleton. When we came back to Oshkosh in 2006, we found that the Prime Quarter had closed. Fortunately Will Womack suggested the Black Otter, and, as they say, the rest is history. We missed 2020 due to Covid, so there have been 18 dinners at the Black Otter. I think I am about the only one left who was at that first dinner. It would be nice to see some other old timers back again, that means you, CJ! Hopefully the tradition will continue for many years to come. A special thanks to Mike Bullock for taking over management of the RB website when Spike moved on to other things. There is not much activity on the site these days but it still ties us together in the shared passion for airplanes.

I hope to see everyone again next year.

A great time was had last week at the Black Otter. I was too busy talking to people to properly document the event. Record crowd as Paul said - 37+ people. 42 if you count the guys at Darwin's table.
