hey, if you are ever in Yellow Springs Ohio, the Ecological Center at Glen Helen Preserve is the "Vernet Ecological Center" and named after Sergius Vernet (a French-Russian dude), the inventor of the Vernatherm. it is nice to know where the systems on your aircraft engine were developed.
Back in the 1930s, a young entrepreneur named Sergius Vernet applied his curiosity and ingenuity to invent a wax-filled thermostat to control the temperature in internal combustion engines. Leveraging creativity and material science, he developed the Vernatherm, while working in the basement of Antioch College’s science building in the southwestern Ohio village of Yellow Springs.... and now you know the rest of the story.
it is not a "vern-a-therm", but rather a "ver-nay-therm". French Vernet is pronounced Ver-nay.
