Diverging Diamond Interchanges - most are not symmetrical

Has anyone else noticed that most Diverging Diamond Interchanges (DDIs) are not actually symmetrical? I’m curious if there is a specific engineering or traffic flow reason for this design choice, or if it just comes down to the constraints of the existing road geometry.
