Tell me, I was thinkin...
The EAA does not favor the doggie style tie downs.

Doggie style, I love it!

Anywhoooo, that is what I got.
Now, I was thinking of making something else up on short order... but what?
The 3 pin ones that they like the most seem heavy and complicated and not worth the hassle.
Alternatively, I am thinking of whipping up the 1/2" x 18" steel rod ones.
The Six doesn't usually move much on it's own. It is really hard to move, any way you slice it! The dam thing goes a 1 ton, 1 1/2+ tons fully loaded.
What are you using?

Poeboy made some tie downs for us. He went to Home Depot and got some steel T plates made for doing truss work. He riveted two together, bolted a U-Bolt through them, and got 3 long stakes, one for each end of the 'T'. He made 3 of those up and we are good to go
This is gonna be so cool!!

No, Poeboy has them. I'll be glad to show them to you up there, though, I have a feeling that wont help much :p

CJ,
I have essentially what spike and poeboy have. I can probably have a pic of these up tomorrow night. I think my dad still has them from last years trip up there. Very easy to make, and they work great!

Ok CJ, here's the pics of my tie downs, and how they work:
Use threaded rod, it's easier to get out of the ground, just unscrew it with the cresent wrench.

Nice detail of the top of the rod. Makes it easy to hammer in, and then screw out.
Here's the little tool box that it all fits in. The rods are under the plates. Weighs about 10 pounds.
poeboy and spike, is this about like what you guys have?

Hmmm, pretty slick setup!
Tell me, does it reall hold better than the other methods?

I'd put these up against ANYTHING! I have tried as hard as I could to pull these things out with the tie down strap, and did nothing but hurt my back. Each of the rods go in at a different angle, and will not come out of the ground without unscrewing them. The threaded rod really "bites" the surrounding dirt.
Give 'em a try, or check mine out at OSH next week. They really work well.
