It's a 172 and I call it Niner Three Ugly, for good reason!

Image

It flies really well, has an S-Tec AP and a Garmin 150 GPS. Not a bad XC platform or instrument trainer!

I flew it for a couple of hours today and it handles... like a 172! Who knew!?!

...but she sure is UG LEE!

She is photogenic.

Up close and personal, the paint is miserable and lots os hangar rash.

...and,

With all the bells, whistles, knobs and things that go "DING" in your fricken thunder chicken, you don't have an OTOO PILOT!?!

SHAME!!!

You know, Spike... this is the perfect plane for a mid point rendezvous!

These guys LOVE to fly for no apparent reason, we could have a photo op with the 2 planes. Maybe WS can meet us with the new to us RV-4? That way we could have all 3 planes in the pic! The Good, Bad and the UGLY!

Man, I crack myself up!

I was just looking around at possible destinations.

Maybe New York? Others in the area could meet us as well!

I was thinking Orange County.

No food there, but that is why they have taxi's!

Either that or Lon Gi Land?

Your trip would be longer and more complicated.

New Jersey would be longer and more complicated for us.

Maybe upstate NY is best.

How about Caldwell (KCDW) in New Jersey? Far enough from LGA and JFK to avoid messing with Class B airspace when arriving from Boston. Folks coming from the south would have to sneak around Newark.

There's a good restaurant there, one of those military-themed places like the ones at Farmingdale NY, Wilmington DE and College Park, MD.

Come to think of it, Farmingdale isn't a bad choice either if you don't mind some overwater flying coming up from the south.

New England Wing North....waaaay north!

Farmingdale is a GREAT choice!

I love the steaks there!

Been awhile since I have visited.

Spike, what d'ya think?

Winter shindig around Halloween?

What do others think?

Who else is coming?

I can fill up the Cherokee Six if we have enough people!
