Pics of my kids!

Post by captain_john »

We went on a field trip today. When your teacher is a flying nut, where do you go for a field trip? The airport, of course!

Excuse for going? Well, we have the Unmanned Communications Station (ILS Shelters), Runway lighting, Towers, Hangar Construction & Grounding Techniques!

This is my Sophomore Electrical class touring Alpha One Flight Services here at Plymouth, MA Municipal Airport:

The kids really liked seeing all the planes! We also dropped in on the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing!

...and the chopper copper giving us the rundown on the cool little Eurocopters we got here!

The kids said that it was the BEST field trip they ever had and really liked riding in the yellow limo down the taxiways and around the field!

What a great way to start Thanksgiving vacation! I suppose we could have gone to Plimoth Plantation... but this was WAAAAAY BETTAH!

And the 3rd kid from the left (top pic) looks like he is smoking. Just kidding, that would be a cool field trip. Did you ever think about making Young Eagles out of them?

Very cool. Giving new people exposure to aviation is so important. If because of that field trip you were able to get just one of your students even the least bit excited about aviation, it was worth it. Not counting the satisfaction I'm sure you got out of it.

Nice

that's so true will! i had my 11 year old cousin come over to hang with me this past saturday. he has had his mind set on being a professional basketball player when he grows up for a long time now. well, we hung out at the airport most of the day, and played microsoft flight sim '04 back at home. without me even asking or saying anything to him, he told his mom when she came to pick him up, that he might want to be a pilot when he grows up! 8) 8) 8)

Nah, he's just got that whole teenage "bored and disinterested" thing going on. It's not cool to admit that you're having fun at a school function!
