fun with fiberglass!

Yeah it does get slow sometimes. I usually take that to mean that people are either deep into building a sub part or sometimes its around the holidays.

Ive been working on getting the new workshop together at the new home so I can get to finishing the tailkit. The wing kit is at Van's just patiently waiting the go ahead.

That's looking good Chad. Did you use a different countersink for the fiberglass than you use for your metal work?

i used my deburring tool for the countersinking in the fiberglass (better control, and it fits on that lip better). i don't have any more metal work to do until my wings arrive in a couple of months, so i have time to buy a new bit.

Chad I just thought about something this morning. I dont know if you are aware but most builders who use a cage or deburr tool to countersink the fiberglass dedicate one strictly for fiberglass use. The concensus Ive gotten from talking to them is that the fiberglass pretty much ruins the cutters for use on aluminum. Something to consider.

yep! i have a drawer in my hardware bin dedicated for fiberglass use tools. i ordered a new deburr/countersink bit from aircraft tool supply on monday to replace the one i currently have, since i used it on the tip.
