This is really cool!

You are gonna need high speed or save it to your hard disk.

Talk about a show stopper!

Check out the other videos on this page:

I think the corsair video is computer generated ... ? It is cool, though!

So John I couldn't tell what your meaning was. Is it that you want to do CG yourself or do you want to learn to fly the maneuvers in the video. If it's the CG you want to learn I have dabbled in it myself on and off for several years. Some of the programs I've played with are 3D Max, Maya, Lightwave, Bryce and now I'm teaching myself to use Poser. The person making those videos is doing some incredible work and I didn't pick up on the fact that it was CG till the third time I watched it. Of course you go to the site you have linked and it all becomes clear as to what it is. Not so obvious but very cool is the ability to link objects such as those planes to a joy stick or other human interface device and fly it. When I was a kid I always wanted to be able to manipulate characters on the TV. If at all interested G Max is available from Discreet. It is a very powerful program although with fewer abilities than it's big brother 3D Max. Many games are being released with the ability to be customized using G Max. It is a free download last I looked. Maya also has a learning edition downloadable on the web. A search for either on Google will find the parent sites short order.

Jim, it was the real maneuver I am referring to.

There is ALOT of flight training in my future before I will be able to pull off a stunt like that!

That is the "Gee Whiz" stuff that gets people killed without the proper training! That isn't my intention.

Hey ummmmm, stupid question:

If one were to do this maneuver, or one similar to this which are done all the time in planes like ours... why aren't they concerned about shock cooling?

Because Shock Cooling is a myth. (How's that for stirring the pot??)

And if you want to start arguing that, spin off another thread so we don't hijack this one ....

HA! I am not going to argue that. Maybe a "Myths and Legends" thread could be started?
