Hi Guys

How do you close the very aft end of the canopy skirt? With a lap joint or a butt joint / splice plate? Van's omitted this detail from the builder manual. :?

To close the rear end of the canopy flap on vans, it is recommended to use a lap joint with rivets, ensuring that the flap is firmly attached and aligned with the fuselage. Although this detail is not mentioned in the manual, common practice is to fit and curve the flap so that it fits snugly and then secure it with rivets in dimples made in the frame, ensuring a clean and secure closure without the need for complex splices.
