Builder tips

Post by Ronald Sutton »

When drilling out a pop rivet, blind rivet, or cherry max, take an automatic center punch or prick punch and drive the center stem down past the head of the rivet about 1/16 inch. Take a drill the exact size of the rivet shank and drill the head down to the stem. Break the head of the rivet off with a corresponding size punch. Then drive the rest of the rivet out of the mating part.
All of these "builder tips" have been around for some time, they just have to surface now and again to refresh our memory.
