Me again

Just when I thought I was past my "oops" stage. I made another fairly substatial blunder. This one will cost me 16 ribs. Small ones thankfully.

It seems that my brain decided that all of the pilot hole locations were the same for the back/flap/alieron ribs. It didn't matter that the plans clearly state otherwise.

A minor setback in the grand scheme of things but it really bugs me that I let this happen. I truely believed I had the right numbers when I drilled.

Moral: Beware your brain, it's not necessarily on the same team as the rest of you is.

I know what you mean. I must have checked my layout and dimensions 4 times for some lightning holes, and for some reason two nights ago I decided to check them once more before drilling, and sure enough I had one hole marked 1 inch from where it was suppose to be. Luckily I caught this one, but I just don't get how I could have missed it so many times. Guess "measure twice, cut once" isn't good enough for me, I need to measure, mark, then go away for a day or two so I forget how I measured it, then measure again :( .

Ditto Don. I'm in the same boat and that's a great idea! That's a great way to avoid :bang:

PK, so sorry about your brain...

I don't have one so I can relate! This is why I am doing a kit!

I have a friend who needs courage, and I need common sense. Maybe we could go ask the Wizard of Oz!
