Could have been bad

:o Here is what happens when you kick the chair out of the way and don't pay attention to where it ends up. As you can tell in this case it ended up next to the heater. A little to close as a matter of fact. No flames, but to close for me. Thought it might help prevent someone else from doing the same thing.

HOLY MOLY!

Yah... that would be pretty high on the suck list!

You were lucky that you were there to observe things!

Those portable space heaters scare me.

...and I don't scare easy!

Be careful!

I was just thinking today while out in the shop that I need to get a fire extinguisher out there ... any recommendations?!

THOMAS!!!

You don't even have ONE FIRE EXTINGUISHER in your shop!?!

OMG!!!

:o

Get some good ABC ones!

I have FOUR!

In this picture you can see TWO OF THEM!

I had an extension cord go up one night at my house and it scared the HELL out of me. I was glad I was home!

When I was a kid, my workshop burned to the ground. It gave me a real sense of how bad fire can be!

Chad has project insurance. I do not. I can tell you that I would be beside myself after a tragedy!

I don't know how soon I would start the project again. It would be a huge emotional setback!

Be careful guys!

Yes, it got my attention. I have one fire extinguisher in the shop but am going to add a couple of more.

It wasn't a space heater CJ. I have a LP gas fireplace with a blower in it. It is direct vent and fully enclosed. It just isn't good to park things right against it.

You can see the heater on the left in this photo.

I am gonna get one next time I'm at Menards / Lowes / etc.

I agree, CJ - I would be devastated if something happened to the project. I worry about theft / vandalism, too - since the shop is at the house where I don't live right now. I have tossed around the idea of insurance, may pull the trigger soon since the value is getting up there.

So it's ABC?

Thanks
T.

Yah, ABC means it will put out all type of fires, combustible solids, liquids and electrical fires. It is the most common type.

After what happened in Danvers, MA this last week, we need to be really careful with combustibles!

I am willing to bet they had a toluene leak and an automatic switch opened or closed and provided the ignition source for the BOOM!

That made national news, did ya see it?
