DAMN!
I screwed up my second trim tab - and I never even got to the bending part!!!

I dropped the first one on the floor and bent the end of it. Ordered a second one, and after alodining it this AM I hung it to dry from the track of the garage door (mistake!). I told myself "do not go anywhere without taking that down." Well, needed to take a quick trip to lowes, hopped in the car and hit the button then heard a crash ....
Another one bent up!!

I'm gonna try and salvage it, but I'm not too hopeful.

Just do what I am doing Thomas. I am hanging all of my trashed parts on the wall of the workshop. When Im done with the plane I am going to take the parts and make a piece of furniture for a conversation piece.

We all do it. Besides, you should be happy that you hurt a cheap piece and not an expensive one.

Yeah, it is a cheap piece...
I just really want to finish the empennage before starting the wings (kit got here Tues.) and the trim tab is the last piece.
I'm gonna try and bang those little ears flat and see how it goes.
At the very least, I'll have two tabs to practice bending before the third one!

Hey, dont sweat the small stuff. Those little ears get the crap beaten out of them anyway. If worse comes to worst, cut the ends ears off and make a little cap rib that stuffs into the end of the tab. Pop rivet it in place and BINGO! It is done.
