Wood/composite prop with 200HP

Has anyone heard or know of problems using wood prop on the IO360 200HP engine?
A friend of mine has a Acrodusted biplane with an IO360 200hp. He replaced his metal prop with a wood prop after he had flown his trial time off. A few weeks after he installed the wood prop the was taking his brother-in-law for his first ride and the prop departed from the aircraft. He was able to set the plane down in a pasture and both escaped with minor injuries. He is now rebuilding the plane but I strongly doubt he will use a wood prop.
Something to think about.
