Andair

Post by captain_john »

Ok, I became aware of the problem with my Andair fuel pump and sent it back to them.

They were very prompt in communicating with me before I sent it off. There were 2 emails about the return and I cheerfully sent it off.

Two minths has passed and I have tried three times to email them and ask what is going on and NOTHING! I still have yet to hear a word and NO PUMP!

Soooo, I have seen on the other forum that they don't like to email, but I live in the US and they are in England. It isn't easy for me to call them.

John Tipton, could you contact them for me? Anyone else have any other ideas?

I am wondering if this is a wash and perhaps I should call it a loss and go with Robert Paisley's EFII pump.

Did I just lose my VERY EXPENSIVE fuel pump?

I paid LOTS of hard earned greenbacks for it! I would really HATE to have lost it all.

I am a tad irked...

Which e-mail address have you been using? A generic Andair one or someones specific e-mail, such as Owen?

Rob,

I have been messaging the general one and Owen directly.

Today I was moved to write once again. This time I also included Felicity as well.

They answered very quickly the first time when I asked them about returning it. Now that they have the pump, nothing.

I am feeling a bit uncertain about them now.

I had a few e-mails ignored by them (maybe went to junk mail? Who knows) and a few had quite a slow response.

Hopefully they'll be in touch. I'm in the Middle East and not back in the UK until July 5th...if you're still having trouble I'll be happy to call them for you then.

Rob,

I would appreciate that. Somehow I get the feeling that this wouldn't get squared away before then.

I would like to believe the junk mail theory. Most spam filters don't junk email addys that they have replied to prior, though.

Last week I addressed my email to all three addresses simultaneously. Still no reply.

I am really getting frustrated.

I appreciate anything that you could do.

No... they didn't even apologize for being lax in returning the message.

Kinda weird really.

All I want is a good quality, functional fuel pump.

I hope they can pull through. I am really counting on it!

CJ,

This is very encouraging to me. I have experienced EXACTLY the same thing! I had the same fuel pump from the batch on the group buy. I had been communicating with them via email and I sent my fuel pump in to them over 2 months ago. I have sent several emails and heard NOTHING. I've been very concerned, as you have.

I hope mine is being sent out in the same batch! I wish someone there would respond to me.

Hey All, I want to update you about my fuel pump experience.

I am very pleased to tell you that I now have my replacement pump and it is installed.

Image

I did ship it via the US Postal Service because it was a FRACTION of the cost that UPS wanted. The problem is, I was more or less "self-insured".

When I finally heard back from Andair, I was pleased to hear that the pump arrived ok and they would be shipping me a totally new unit. I did notice that that conversation pre-dated the manufacture date on the pump!

I think they don't have a surplus on hand. That could be part of the delay.

Owen was VERY helpful once we began communicating again. I had returned the first pump with the mounting plate still attached. When the replacement pump arrived it didn't have the plate with it. Seeing as I had already fabbed my mount for the plate, this was an issue.

Another email off to Owen and he said that he would dispatch a mounting plate to me immediately. He kept good on his word and it was here in no time at all! It bolted right up and I am one happy camper!

Bruce, I got your call last night after I was already in bed. Contact Owen directly (owen@andair.co.uk). He should be able to help you. I know it can be frustrating halfway across the earth and not being able to communicate with someone. I DO know how you feel!

All ended well with me. I think he will be able to assist you as well.

Lookin' GREAT, CJ! I wrote a long email to Owen and sent it off day before yesterday. No response yet. I'll keep you posted. I can't wait to get mine and get it in for good.
