Faulty trim

Post by Coops »

Took my new second hand RV12 for a fly the other day. Flying straight and level at 3500 ft the plane suddenly went into full climb. I had to force the stick forward to get the nose back down. I realised there was no trim which is electric. Looked to the circuit breakers and noticed the trim breaker had popped out. Pushed it in and resumed normal flight. If the breaker pops shouldn't the trim stay in the position it was last in. That would be far safer than what happened to me.

More likely you had a runaway then the breaker popped. Don't dismiss a popped breaker, find out what caused the fault. Probably intermittent.
