Okay, I know that I said I wasn't gonna go but I just may change my mind.
I may take the Cherokee Six again if I can fill it up with people of like minds. The last time we went it took 1bout 16 hours and it sips 16 gallons per hour. I suppose it would be feasible with 3 more people, but it would cost even less if I got 5 more!
Is anyone interested?
If not, maybe flying into Chicagoland and renting some Harley's. We could rent the bikes for a week and do a Wild Hog run up to OSH!
Do I have any takers?

I am seriously considering flying the Cessna up to Appleton or something. I wouldn't go this year but I have a hard time passing up the RB dinner.

FYI, the Black Otter has just finnished a renovation project. The dining area is basically unchanged, but the bar area was increased about 300%.
Cause thats how we roll in WI

John:
You missed me by a couple of weeks. I booked a commercial flight from Portland to Milwaukee. My buddy and I will rent a car from there to OSH.
If you change your mind and want to book commercially, let me know.
Where are you planning on staying? We are staying at the same place as last year.

I plan on being there. Don't want to miss the ribs at the Black Otter.
CJ, it would be a little out of my way to go by your place though.
Hope you find enough riders to make it feasible.

Hmmm... The Chicago Wild Hog's sounds interesting.
We fly in commercial and rent the bikes...
Let me think about that one. How many days will you stay if we go commercial and rent bikes ?
Would you mind putting together some cost figures to do this instead of the Cherokee 6 ?
Interesting side note: I ran the numbers for taking the RV-4, and it came out almost the same cost per person for 2 adults in the 4 as it did for 6 in the 6

The Wild Hog ride would be about $800 per week for the bike.
...but that would be in American dollars.
I am thinking either cheap hotels or camping.
Commercial tix would be about $250 round trip if you play your cards right.
Total nut, mebbe $1,800 - $2,000 in style?
Let's do it!!!

I found an online website that's quoting $357.00 for 3 days rental.

I don't understand why you're riding from Chicago though.
If you're going to ride to Oshkosh, ride to Oshkosh! I rode there from Albuquerque, NM last year. I did an Iron Butt on the way back, riding from Oshkosh to Pueblo, CO in a day.
Of course I'm not sure a Harley could go that far, even if your backside could take the vibration for that long....

Guy, that is where they rent the bikes from. I am not aware of anyplace in WI that rents 'em.
Besides, a little ride would add some fun to the trip!
