Too quiet for the week before OSH

Post by leffler »

The subject says it all.......

I'm going to be at HBC from Saturday morning to Thursday morning assuming that the weather cooperates.

Regrettably, I'm going to miss the Black Otter, Van's Dinner, and the Beer tasting this year.

I hope to see many of you through out the week.

I'll be coming on on Sunday and leaving Thursday morning. My wife is coming this year, so no camping. We will be in the dorms (with A/C!).

Look for the purple RV-9A and say hi if I'm around. We should be at all of the usual events, HBC beer bash on Sunday, RV beer bash on Monday, Van's banquet on Tues and the Otter on Wed.

Bob, you are going to be at OSH but can't make it to those IMPORTANT venues!?! What is up with that?

What is more important than the beer tasting and the Black Otter?

Bruce, see you there! I will be at all of those events except the Banquet.

I am bringing a pack of Baxter Stowaways with me from Maine. I had more, but ummmmm... ya know.

;)

Maybe I can find something from Massachusetts to augment them?

For years, I've had three conflicts on Wednesday night. I usually attend each on a three year rotating schedule. This year I became our chapter's Young Eagle Coordinator, so I feel obligated to attend the YE Banquet with all the folks that facilitated our chapter's successful YE events. There's no question, that I would rather be eating prime rib at the Otter.

The beer tasting is another conflict. The RV-10 dinner has been going on at the same time for the last fifteen years. I'm also not a beer drinker, but rumor has it that that there is a source of other adult beverages that I do like at the dinner.

I am heading up to Osh on Saturday via Cleveland on a Friday night stopover. My plan is to depart Thursday AM.

Current plans are as follows:
1) Sunday night beer share
2) Monday Beer Social
3) Wednesday Black Otter

I am going to skip out on the Van's banquet. I only went to one of them a few years ago and it didn't quite do it for me.

See you all there!

I'm skipping Van's this year too! At $25 is was ok, but at $35 for the same ole food, I decided to pass.

We've got a gaggle of RVs departing central Ohio at 7:00am ET hoping to miss all the forecasted pop ups. I've got an IFR slot, but haven't decided yet what route I've going to take. Over the lake is much faster, but with thunderstorms, I may have to go around Chicago.

See you there!

Heading to Oshkosh tomorrow morning (Friday) via I-41, direct Green bay, direct Appleton, direct. Setup, drink some beer with painless, come home, back to Oshkosh Sunday night after salmon fishing on Lake Michigan with the Aerotronics guys. I'll miss the beer tasting as I did last year too for the same reason, but I'll be at the Otter on Wednesday!

...thinking a Saturday afternoon arrival for me.

I am in Cleveland now at my cousin's house. Looks like Saturday is the day most likely for t-storms as of right now.

Could be a circuitous trip around the storms!

Saturday is definitely looking precarious with the storms in Northern OH/IL, but I think eventually I should be able to make it to Osh. Worst case I will blast off first thing Sunday.

It's been a tough week getting re-acclimated to work. I've spent nearly all week planning a business trip to Barcelona for a conference, then heading off to Munich for Oktoberfest. I seriously don't get paid enough for this form of torture!

Don't forget I am using my work connection to get some sweet seats to the Nationals game! The toughest part of my weekend will be making sure I don't forget to pack my Liederhosen before I depart for España!
