Black Otter 2018!

Post by bullojm1 »

It's never too early to start planning the Black Otter feast for this years Oshkosh. We typically host this event on Wednesday evening. However, there seems to be more disinterest in Van's banquet this year more than ever, especially with them upping the price. I propose we have our dinner on Tuesday night.

Pluses included:
1) Eat meat sooner
2) Not competing with the Wednesday night airshow
3) Eat meat sooner
4) For those of us taking off on Thursday AM, we have less weight to haul with us home.

The only negatives I see are:
1) Possibly not having as many people as some of us like the Van's Banquet.
2) Work conflicts with Chad wining and dining customers.

What do you all think?

Chad? Never heard of him...

Tuesday works for me. Adding excess protein/fat to the mix of beer from the tasting and beer fairy parties should finish me off nicely.

Hmmm, ok...

Why not? I was just planning on going to SOS Bros. anyways that night!

Count me in for two. I will be bringing my Alaska weary co-pilot Markham with me and he will be hungry!

I like all the pro reasons, I say yes. M'lady got work off and will be there, she is mostly vegetarian these days, so we can all taunt her with bloody flesh.

So has the date been officially changed? I just realized that I have another dinner to attend on Tuesday. I may have a major decision to make.

Can’t help it that I’m so popular........ 8)

I was tripled booked for dinner on Wednesday night and with Van's raising the price to $40, I wasn't going to the banquet anyways.

Tuesday works for me!

I am more than OK with Tues. My wife and I are breaking up with the Van's snooze fest this year. Although I did win $100 gift cert. last year! (That I have never used)

I too like to leave Thurs. morning and have never seen the night airshow.

The Queen of the Fleet has 6 open seats. Six *legal* seats that is. Bullock can ride in the cargo area if need be, and as a favor to my other passengers.... :P

As for Erik, he may not have any open seats as he may be bringing guests. So don’t count him as available.

It’s getting to the point where we should just hire a bus.....with beer on board

If needed I can drive to Oshkosh to pick up 4-5 people and would enjoy the company. So if you are on the fence because you don't have a ride just let me know.
