these mags were operating fine but at 500 hrs they were due for service. this service was for new monel style gear electrode and points. there was one deposit node on the points. I am sure they could have gone longer but since it's off might as well change them. these mags have been good with only 2 deg shift in 500 hrs. I'm happy with them and have them serviced by an AnP on the field. he said the mags looked good internally. also, lubricated my rudder cable attachments. when I remove the cowl, I used to apply tape to the leading edge of the fwd gear leg fairing, now I just tape a rag. engine ground run and check flight were good. both of my mags are impulse, and I have a spare mag that I rotate in at 500 hrs. both mags have now been serviced. I maintain all of the components within their normal service interval.
