Rudder Trailing Edge Done !

Post by Bill H »

You might regret that. Wait till you have to Pro seal the tanks. You will be sick of the sticky stuff. But! Even my self find pro seal the most common sealer or bonder or any other use i can think of using it for.

Rich, that is looking really nice. Pro seal isn't so bad to work with if you just remember to keep things clean. I used lots of little 2x2 pieces of old t-shirt soaked in acetone to keep my tools and hands clean while doing the tanks.

Now, get CJ to show you how to best rivet that trailing edge to keep it straight!

Proseal isn't bad, I treat it just like silicon. I use bare hands, I get it on my hands, I don't clean the cleko's(but I only use enough to do one rib at a time), to clean up I use mineral spirits for my hands and MEK for the project. Here is a tip for you, have a cup of water and dip your fingers in it and then use your finger to spread the proseal into place, I think it works best after it's set up. Even a couple days later, then it's like playing with silly putty. I know I'm nuts, but I work with black silicon all day long doing auto transmissions.

I don't think Rich will have to work with the ProSeal that much....
The tag line says he's going quick build wings and fuse..

Looking good on the Rudder Rich, keep at it.

Rich, I was thinking that when we install the rivets we should alternate them. Install every other one one way and the others... the other way!

Hey Rich, the rudder looks great.

And thanks for the machined blocks! Let me know how much I owe you.

The next time Captain John comes up for a tank rib riveting session, you'll have to join us. You'll get a whole new appreciation for proseal!

Haven't riveted yet, been prepping evevator parts for now...

Proseal seems like the do-it all 200 mph sealer/adhesive
GREAT STUFF !

CJ: are u picking up your finish kit tomorrow?
Thermos: No problemo, just hope they fit.
