Hi Guys
Has any one fitted a Ray Allan flap position sensor?
I want to order the sensor and LED indicator but i am unsure which sensor to order.
There are three available all with different lengths of travel. 0.5" 0.7" 1.2"
These are given by part number POS-5, POS-7, POS-12
Secondly, if any one has any installation advice i would appreciate your help
I have not heard of Ray Allen or his Flap sensor. I am just now wiring up my panel and have wired up my flaps. However if the price is right I might be interested. How much and where or how do I contact Ray Allen? Thanks for you assistance in Advance!

Go to his web page

The cost of the sensor $33 and the LED $89
The sensor for the RV-7 is POS 12
Ray Allen also supplys the multi core wire you will need.
When you down load the order form dont forget to order the Lables for the LED there free !
Happy building

Thats my favorite Jim. Though I think I am interested in the set it and forget it switch. We had those on the newer Cessna's that I trained in and I loved them. My cessna ('74) doesn't have them, and I wish it did from a repeatability & "fly by the numbers" perspective.

Yup, that's what I'm interested in. Keep it simple. Also I want nice seats, I'll apply the money saved on gadgets and put them into comfort. Lets see here, stereo, leather seats, mufflers.

Well then we need to get more people. I think we get discounted a whole bunch because we dont have tons of people hanging out. Therefore, its hard to attract people, especially with VAF being so large. We need to work on letting others know about this place.

A couple of adel clamps hold a piece of sheet metal which attaches to the rod. The other end of the rod goes to the sensor.
I like the sensor because it is consistent, and allows you to bump the flaps down to the next setting without moving your eyes backwards to look at the flaps. One bump and they're up for a missed or go around. Better, IMO.
